Case Study
Fractional Chief Product & Technology Officer
The Problem
Lansworth recognized an opportunity to extend its experience in self-service technology into the pharmacy market through automated prescription pickup solutions. The company acquired the rights to distribute the Pharmaself24 kiosk in the United States, but bringing the solution successfully to market required much more than simply introducing the hardware.
Launching the solution in the U.S. market required defining and building out the hardware and software requirements, integrations, and partnerships specific to the needs of US pharmacy operations. Rather than building an internal team, Lansworth engaged me on a fractional basis to provide the leadership to drive that process. My prior experience with similar complex product launches allowed me to assess operational requirements, establish strategic partnerships, and drive the project efforts necessary to bring the solution successfully to market.
How We Got There
Phase 01
Strategy
Before anyone wrote a line of code, we needed a clear picture of what the US market needed and the best path to address these requirements.
Phase 02
Operations
With the roadmap in hand, the work shifted to execution — negotiating the partnerships that would make the product real, defining what needed to be built, and making sure it worked in the field.
Phase 03
Transition
A fractional engagement done right leaves the business stronger than it found it, with the people, processes, and structure to keep moving.
The Results
Two new pharmacy management system integrations live in production.
Payment and communication systems fully integrated into the kiosk solution and live in production.
Three new pharmacy customer deployments completed across multiple configurations.
A defined multi-quarter roadmap and a trained internal team ready to execute it.
The engagement laid the foundation for Lansworth’s long-term U.S. pharmacy market expansion, and the team continues to build on it.
Client Perspective
“Jed’s experience with complex technology deployments helped accelerate key aspects of our U.S. product launch efforts. Even in a fractional engagement, he quickly became an extension of the team, and together we successfully brought the solution to market.”
